Pixel Pushers

Posted In: , , , , . By Rusty

Hello again ya'll! Looks like I'm actually keepin to my schedule this time. Anyway, I do have some new news and here it is.

First of all, I've started up a site (rustridden - rust.ulmb.com) for me and my friends at my school where they can download games during computer classes, and I'm thinking about adding a pixel wall (for what reason, I have absolutely no idea..). It's not gonna be one where I charge $50 for a hundred pixels since I don't much traffic anyway, so if anyone wants to add something to it, send me an email at rustridden@gmail.com.

More weekly news: a measly 470 push ups this week, gotta get into shape..More news: I got a brand new 160 gig portable hard drive! what should I put on it??

More: I've been pretty bored lately, and I found an interesting video that you've all probably seen already:

um ya... look forward to me posting some cool guitar song i make oneday.. c ya next week!
Mugen rocks!
The Pixel App at facebook rox!

push ups!push ups!push ups!push ups!

Well, it's been a while, and thanks to my laziness, nothing is getting done =D I do have updatest to make up for the absence. I noticed some blogs and sites where people recorded the number of pushups they did each week. I believe this will help me in two ways:

  1. It helps me keep up my exercise and

  2. It forces me to blog every week XD

Here are my current stats for last week (monday-friday):

2/25 - 60

2/26 - 90

2/27 - 50

2/28 - 35

2/29 - 80

Totalled: 315. Goal next week: 350. Well it may not seem like too much to some but it's better than nothing for me lol.

Other stuff going on, I was browsing for new wallpaper the other day, and I found some good stuff at DeviantArt. There were some papers on an anime called Tsubasa Chronicles. I find it to be pretty good though it may just a bit old (a couple years). Just a recommendation to anyone looking for a good anime while they're waiting for the next Bleach ep.

Well, I've made another website for myself (being lazy and using templates again..) called 'rustridden.' It's a simple site I'm using to give people at my school easy access to games, etc. No it's not a proxy site. I plan to use a similar color scheme on this blog eventually along with the simplicity that the design has.

Hopefully, I'll remain dedicated to this blog better from now on. I hope you all had a great Leap Day, and I look forward to posting soon. Till then..

P.S. don't mind the fact that it's 1 in the morning..

New Looks

Posted In: , , , , , . By Rusty

Hey all, I finally decided to spruce up my blog, but I ended up being lazy and using a template. I'll be adding new posts in the near future, possibly some more Scratchpad work, so stay tuned!

Edit: Here while your bored..

Linerider.com

Not that we're bad in anyway whatsoever..

I guess today I'll deviate from my usual topics (internet, games, technology) and talk about something real. The theatre is an exciting place no matter which way you look at it, but it is very interesting to go behind the scenes and see how shows work. For example, at my high school, I am an advanced tech, so I do lots of work on shows, especially lighting. As a tech, one learns that wearing black is absolutely necessary when working on an on-stage tech crew. It kinda destroys the atmosphere if you see some guy wearing bright colors running on stage during a blackout.

Not all tech work is that done on stage. There are many divisions within the general technical idea. Costume and make-up management is part of the technical crew's job, as is publicity managing, such as advertisements, etc. Basically any part of running a theatre is part of a tech's job. Lights, sound, rigging, stage managing; all are vital parts of making a show work.

That's basically the main view of the technical world of theatre. Sorry if I didn't do too great of a job at that; I'm pretty tired after a good day of work with not enough food/drink. Anyway, looks like I'm keeping up with my once a week blogging. I'll try to come up with something else cool soon. Look into auditioning for your next school play! It's quite an eye opener for first timers and it'll help you become a better speaker.

All about Enso

Posted In: , , , . By Rusty

I've recently come across an ingenious product from Humanized. Enso is a program that runs in the background on your computer, and what it does is it allows you to open/spellcheck/play/command/etc. any program with a few simple keys.

Enso takes advantage of the Caps Lock key (due its uselessness to most people) and allows one to enter commands while holding it down. For example, if I wanted to open a Notepad document, all I'd have to do is hold Caps Lock and type open notepad to open Notepad. Enso even guesses the program by what you commonly choose and related spellings. Enso was designed to allow more functionality into people's lives.

The best thing about Enso is that it's completely free! Plus Enso 2.0 is in the making, and Humanized is working with Mozilla. Who knows how great Firefox could be when these two companies team up. So anyway, check it out at the Humanized website. They also have addons like maps which make (technological) life so much easier. The program is relatively small and runs really well on basic computers.

Scratchpad Art

Posted In: , , , . By Rusty

First off, sorry for the long wait folks. Looks like I haven't been sticking to my (unsaid) resolution very much. I'll try to keep this blog updated more often, if not more often, at least once a week. Anyway, I did a little bit of browsing a while back, and I stopped by the Scratchpad. It's basically a flash program where visitors can draw anything they want on one of several "scratchpads." Most of the stuff is basically useless and unimagainative, but I found a few drawings worthy of saving.

For the cool slope things, I used Curvemaker, a program usually used in the flash game Linerider to draw perfect curves. In this case, I added these in and people used them as templates for these drawings.
So mabye you'll head over to the Pad and do a little doodling yourself. Again, I'll try to keep this place updated, bringing you the interesting and the boring (from your point of view). For now, happy browsings!

BTW;I love how blogging makes one feel like an article writer in a newspaper. Gives one a sense of responsibility.

Happy New Years everyone! I'm not sure how the lanterns relate to this greeting, but it's festive anyway! lol Yes I know this blog is still rarely read (if at all) but I'm still gonna keep at it and hopefully make it popular (to an extent..)!
Here are a couple of my somewhat late resolutions for glorious8:

Resolution 1: Stop Procrastinating!

Resolution 2: Update this blog =] lol

I'll try to post something up ASAP so till then..
